That is when the Lake Superior Ballroom of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) will become the 2018 NORTHLAND OUTDOORS DULUTH DEER CLASSIC. Furthermore, on the same dates and at the same times, the entire downstairs portion of the DECC will be transformed into the 2018 Duluth Boat, Sports, Travel and RV Show. What is so great about this is that one admission will gain you access to both of these great shows. Where else can you get this kind of experience and this much entertainment value? What a great opportunity to escape the long Winter drudgery and celebrate the coming Spring with your family and friends who are also sure to be there.

If you are a gun enthusiast, you will want to be sure to stop by the impressive display of fine weaponry and safes with knowledgeable staff on hand to assist you. If you can’t find it they don’t make it! If it is archery you are interested in stop in take a look at the huge variety of Archery equipment showcasing the newest lines on the market.

Resorts, lodges, campgrounds and safaris will also be well represented. They can help you plan your next big hunting adventure whether it be in North America or even as far away as Africa. Guides and Outfitters will also be present to help insure that your hunt is a successful one.

Seminars have always been an important part of the show and this year will be no exception. Experts in their fields will be there to present interesting and informative talks on a variety of subjects. At least one of these seminars is sure to be of interest to you so either click on the “Seminar” tab on this website or, if you are at the show, consult your program for dates and times of each seminar.

If you are in possession of a prized rack of any kind and have always wondered how it stacks up against others of its kind bring it to the show. The Minnesota Official Measurers (Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young) will be there. Just take your rack to their booth and they will be glad to measure it for FREE while giving you information on the procedures they use and what they look for when measuring and scoring a rack. You will want to be sure to check out the Great American Duck Races. While these “quackers” are not available to be hunted you are sure to enjoy watching them race to the finish line. Also, don’t forget to stop by the Live Deer Exhibit where you will be given the opportunity to feed these wonderful animals. Again, no hunting allowed but you are sure to enjoy interacting with them. Royalty British Kennels will be back with their British Labrador Puppies. These adorable, playful pups are always a big hit and their breeder/trainer will be on hand to explain why these dogs make great hunting dogs as well as wonderful family pets. Also, be sure to visit the Pheasant Forever Youth Village Display where you will have the opportunity to test your shooting skills at the Laser Shot or Safe Archery zone as well as the Indoor Sling Shot center while learning valuable information on firearms safety. The ever-popular silent auction presented by Ducks Unlimited will also be at the show. Don’t forget to come and bid on your favorite item. Bring the kids for a true treasure hunt.

Downstairs on the main level of the DECC you will find even more attractions in addition to the great selection of vendors present. In the main Arena will be the ever-popular Rainbow Trout Pond where, for decades fishermen of all ages have come to cast their line with the hope of reeling in the ever elusive “big one”. Grandparents who fished here as kids are now bringing their grandchildren to experience the wonderful thrill of fishing. Over in Paulucci Hall you won’t want to miss Mac and the Big Cheese. These two gurus will entertain you while showing you recipes and techniques to create the ultimate outdoor cooking experience. Stroll back into the Connector between the Arena and Pioneer Hall and you will find the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s traveling conservation exhibit showcasing some of the Largest Bull Elk from across North America with World – Class taxidermy. This is one exhibit you won’t want to miss! Continue to the back of Pioneer Hall and experience the thrill of riding Jack Link’s Mechanical Bull. If you dare don’t miss this chance to find out how good of an “Urban Cowboy or Cowgirl” you are. If you have little ones along bring them over to the main deli where you will find Cherri Meri Muffin. She will bring smiles to their faces as she treats them to free face painting and balloon animals. Back by popular demand is the Lowrance Marine University. Attend workshops and learn from the experts. Pre-registration is required.
