The biggest and best event of the Winter season will occur February 14th – 18th, 2018. That is when the 52nd ANNUAL DULUTH BOAT, SPORTS, TRAVEL & RV SHOW will occupy the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). The Northland Outdoors Duluth Deer Classic will be happening on the same dates and the same times upstairs in the Lake Superior Ballroom and your admission will gain you access to both of these great shows. This is definitely the best entertainment value in town. Virtually every make and model of boat, pontoon and RV will be on display as well as docks and lifts. Camping equipment is also well represented as are a variety of campgrounds, lodges and resorts from all over North America and safaris as far away as Africa. Many of the boat, dock and RV dealers will be there showcasing their 2018 models and offering discounts which will only be available during the show. If you are looking to acquire the latest in fishing gear from rods and reels to the newest high-tech electronic devices this is the place to be. Manufacturers’ representatives and retailers will be there to help you select the gear that is just right for you. Interesting and educational seminars have always been a big part of the show and this year will be no exception. Experts in their fields will conduct seminars on a variety of fishing and hunting topics throughout the show. Consult the “Seminars” page on this website or, if you are at the show, check your show program for dates, times and locations. You are sure to find at least one that will interest you.

Entertainment is another aspect of the show which attendees look forward to every year. 2018 will offer an exceptional variety of attractions for young and old alike. In the Lake Superior Ballroom (upstairs) you will find The Great American Duck Races. Come cheer on your favorite “quacker” as they streak to the finish line. Be sure to stop by the live Deer exhibit where you will have a chance to hand feed them. The ever-popular British Lab Puppies will also be a part of the show. These playful puppies are sure to win your heart and their breeder/trainer will be there to tell you why they make such great hunting and family dogs. Make your way over to the Pheasant Forever Youth Village Display where you will have the opportunity to use a laser shot, Indoor Sling Shot or Safe Archery Zone. Ducks Unlimited will be back with their silent auction display where you can bid on your favorite item and new this year stop by the Ducks Unlimited booth to pick up a treasure hunt map for the kids to participate in. The Minnesota Official Measurers (Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young) will also be there. Just take your rack to their booth and they will be glad to measure it for FREE while giving you information on the procedures they use and what they look for when measuring and scoring a rack.

Downstairs in the main arena you will find the Rainbow Trout Pond where for decades kids and their parents and grandparents have come to cast a line in hopes of hooking that ever elusive “big one”. Wander over into Paulucci Hall and you will find Mac and the Big Cheese who will amuse and amaze you with cooking techniques & tips creating delicious & easy recipes for ultimate outdoor cooking. Stroll back into the Connector between the Arena and Pioneer Hall and you will find the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundations traveling conservation exhibit showcasing some of the Largest Bull Elk from across North America with World – Class taxidermy – this is one exhibit you won’t want to miss! Keep going back into Pioneer Hall and you will find Jack Link’s Mechanical Bull. If you are brave enough to climb on you can find out if you are a real Urban Cowboy. If you are looking to learn from the experts make sure you attend and pre-register for the Lowrance Marine University. All these attractions and more are there for you to enjoy as you make your way through the hundreds of vendors displaying their goods and services. Along the way you are sure to find something you want or need from a small fishing lure to a magnificent RV ready to take you and your family on that trip you have dreamed about for so long.

For the younger children in your group you will want to stop by the Leinie Lounge just off of Fitzgerald Hall and see Cherri Merri Muffin. She will delight them with free face painting and balloon animals. While there satisfy that hunger and thirst you have built up with the great selection of food and drinks available.

The DULUTH BOAT, SPORTS, TRAVEL & RV SHOW in conjunction with the Northland Outdoors Duluth Deer Classic is a once-a-year, one-of-a-kind show that truly has something for everybody. In addition to the great vendors and wonderful entertainment it is also chance to cure that cabin fever that has been building up all winter and get out and reconnect with friends and family who will also be there.
